A letter from the president
My name is Erika Schafer, and I have the honor of serving as the Chapter President of the Gamma Zeta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at Kansas State University. I hope that our website gives you the opportunity to see what this chapter has done for me and will continue to do for the future women who step through our doors before, during, and after recruitment.
Alpha Chi has shown me the true meaning of friendship, given me a sense of family near and far, and provided me memories that I will tell years down the road with a smile on my face. When I went through the recruitment process in Fall 2016, I was a freshman trying to figure out how to live away from my support system back home. The moment I walked into Alpha Chi, I knew I had found a place to call my "home away from home". The love and friendship that I have experienced from members, both older and younger, is something truly unique and special. My sisters push me daily to be the best version of myself, even on days when I feel discouraged or worried. They are there when I need someone to go to Sonic with, or when
I need a shoulder to cry on. These women are here to celebrate with me in happy times and cry with me in sad times.
When I walk through our red double doors, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of belonging and happiness, knowing that the Real. Strong. Women. of Gamma Zeta are making strides to be the best version of themselves and challenging each other to be better women than they were the day previous.
Thank you for exploring our website! I hope you've gained a better understanding and vision of why I call Alpha Chi Omega my home away from home, and I leave you with my warmest regards.
Erika Schafer, Chapter President
